The Government of the Balearic Islands and the Palma City Council have strengthened the issuance service for the Single Public Transport Card with the launch of a new centralized issuance room at the Intermodal Station, a measure that will double the number of available appointments and reduce waiting times for users.
The Single Card allows travel with a single ticket on train, metro, intercity bus (TIB network) and Palma’s urban bus service (EMT), facilitating mobility across Mallorca.
A new room with double the service counters
The reinforcement consists of opening a new centralized issuance room at Palma’s Intermodal Station, which now features 10 customer service counters, twice as many as before.
-
5 counters managed by staff from the Mallorca Transport Consortium (CTM)
-
5 new counters staffed by EMT Palma personnel, which has added 10 workers for this reinforcement
All counters will operate simultaneously from Monday to Saturday, with extended hours:
-
Monday to Friday: 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
-
Saturdays: 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
-
Sundays: closed
Thanks to this expansion, around 400 additional appointments per day can be offered, increasing from just over 2,000 weekly appointments to more than 5,000 at the Intermodal Station.
More than 63,000 cards issued since October

Since the launch of the Single Card at the beginning of October, more than 63,500 cards have already been issued, of which 46,000 are first-time issuances.
Using a single card across all public transport networks in Mallorca enables a faster, more convenient and more efficient operation, improving the experience for both regular and occasional users.
Other places to apply for the Single Card
In addition to the Intermodal Station, the Single Card can be processed at other locations across the island:
-
EMT Palma Customer Service Office
-
Offices of the TIB network in Alcúdia, Inca and Manacor
-
Municipal offices of the town councils of Calvià, Llucmajor and Marratxí
-
Online, via the CAIB Electronic Office
All up-to-date information is available at tib.org.
End of the Citizen Card as a transport ticket on EMT buses
This service reinforcement comes at a key moment in the transition process. From April, the Palma Citizen Card will no longer be valid as a transport ticket on EMT buses, although it will continue to be used for other municipal purposes.
For this reason:
-
Users of the Citizen Card who do not have an Intermodal Card must apply for the new Single Card free of charge
-
Users who already have an Intermodal Card (TIB) do not need to take any action, as this card remains fully valid
The Citizen Card will continue to be used for other services, such as requesting the residency certificate for travel or functions related to waste management, such as opening the brown organic waste containers.
Another step towards integrating public transport
The implementation of the Single Card is the result of the collaboration agreement signed in November 2024 between the Government and Palma City Council for the technological and fare integration of the TIB and EMT networks.
With this reinforcement of the issuance service, both administrations are moving forward in improving the public transport system, focusing on institutional coordination, digitalization and simpler, more accessible mobility for residents and visitors.
