As part of the Sant Sebastià 2026 festivities, the Ajuntament de Palma is organizing a kite flying event with a prior kite-making workshop, a family-friendly activity that combines creativity, tradition and outdoor fun in some of the most emblematic spaces of the historic city centre.
The event will take place on Sunday, January 25, 2026, starting at Ses Voltes and ending with the final kite flying at Parc de la Mar, in the Portella area. This will be the last day of the festivities, which will also feature the popular correfoc.
A creative and participatory activity for all ages

The workshop will allow participants to design and build their own kite, which will later be flown at Parc de la Mar.
Those who already have a kite can also join the flying session directly, making this an open and flexible activity within the festive programme.
This initiative is especially designed for families with children, reinforcing the participatory and community-oriented nature of the Sant Sebastià celebrations.
Kite workshop schedules and sessions
The activity is organized into three sessions, with limited capacity:
-
1st session: from 10:00 to 11:15
-
2nd session: from 11:15 to 12:30
-
3rd session: from 12:30 to 13:45
Advance registration is mandatory and must be completed by session, starting on January 11, via specific online forms for each time slot.
Participation conditions
To ensure the proper running of the activity, the following rules apply:
-
Registration is mandatory and valid only for the selected session.
-
Minors must present a signed authorization.
-
Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
-
Each adult may accompany a maximum of three children.
A family-friendly plan within Sant Sebastià
The kite workshop and flying event have become one of the most attractive family plans of Sant Sebastià, combining crafts, public space and popular tradition in a privileged setting next to the city walls and the sea.
An ideal proposal to enjoy a Sunday morning in Palma, share quality family time and experience the festivities from a creative and participatory perspective.
