On Saturday, 29 March, the Galatzó public estate (Calvià) will host the gastronomic event ‘De la terra a la cuina’ -From the land to the kitchen-, organised by the Consell de Mallorca in collaboration with the association Tramuntana XXI and the Ajuntament de Calvià. This event, taking place from 11:00 to 15:00, aims to promote and showcase local products from the Serra de Tramuntana bearing the Quality Label, with the participation of renowned Mallorcan chefs.
Throughout the event, attendees will enjoy a variety of activities related to the gastronomy and heritage of the Serra. There will be a local products fair, a guided tour of the Galatzó estate and the Fundació Esment vegetable garden, where visitors can explore the natural and ethnological heritage linked to agriculture. Additionally, audiovisual screenings on agricultural production in the region will be shown. A traditional recipe contest will also be held, inviting participants to submit their own culinary creations.
One of the event’s highlights will be the appointment of renowned Mallorcan chefs as ambassadors of Serra de Tramuntana products, in recognition of their commitment to local gastronomy. To conclude the day, Tramuntana XXI will organise a communal meal featuring the traditional arroz de carbonero (charcoal workers’ rice), prepared by chef Cati Pons, who won the Best Rice in Spain award in 2018 with this emblematic recipe. The meal will be supported by Font Sorda and Mortitx winery, both certified with the Distintiu Serra de Tramuntana.
