Daniel Fuster will officially open the ESBLANK gallery on Friday 17 November 2023 with the solo and immersive exhibition “Naufragios de pecera”. He will also count with the performative collaboration of Lourdes LUV LI. The new exhibition space will open its doors from 6 pm to 10 pm in Palma.
“Naufragios de pecera” is an immersive exhibition that consists of welcoming the spectator into a 360-degree universe. The artist and renowned actor Daniel Fuster presents his visual creation to the public for the first time in this exhibition created as a ‘site specific’ at ESBLANK.
It is a transgressive and very different exhibition with an exhibition display that has never been seen before in Mallorca.
A 27-metre long canvas runs through the space showing the experience of the artist who spent 17 days facing the blank canvas. This “abstract mural painting” reflects an accumulation of sensations that brings the visitor closer to a non-physical world, that inexact world of dreamlike dreams and Daniel’s abyssal gesture. A call from art to show the action of creating through painting, of transmitting through an immersive work a journey through emotions as if it were a shipwreck.
ESBLANK (International Art Residency for Visual Artists & Advisory Program) opens its doors this Friday 17th November as the official inauguration of the project with a solo exhibition by Daniel Fuster and a performance by Lourdes LUV LI in collaboration with Intrvl for the audiovisuals.
This exhibition by Daniel Fuster will be accompanied by another exhibition project outside the art space to bring his work closer to the public. This is a collaboration between ESBLANK and the [H]Arte Foundation, who have chosen the artist to exhibit his works on three of the floors of the Hospital Quirónsalud Palmaplanas for a period of three months.
He will also have the collaboration of The Good Circle, who will organise their next event at ESBLANK on the 25th of this month, from 17 to 22h. Made by good people, for good people, to meet good people”.
Daniel Fuster
Daniel Fuster (Palma, 1974) currently lives and works in Mallorca, specifically in Manacor de la Vall, a beautiful village in the interior of the Serra de Tramuntana mountain range. There he has his house-studio, invaded by large works of art all over the space… He says that he became fully immersed in painting as a result of his confinement by the COVID. The solitude and isolation that we all go through gave him time and disobligation, so in that space-time he delved into painting, although he has always been creating and drawing, just look at his ‘moleskine’ notebooks full of ideas, sketches and drawings. Fuster is an actor. He has participated in more than 15 films and as many series. But for him, it doesn’t matter where you come from in the artistic field. “You get involved emotionally and suffer equally in any of its variants”.
